Congratulations to Sam Easthill, from Selby, who passed his driving test in York on 5 Dec 17 with only 8 driver faults.
Sam was also Xpert Driver Trainings first learner to take the new driving test and passed it first time!
I had lessons with Steph for entirety of my learning process and found her to be a helpful and relaxed instructor who carefully guided me through both my theory and practical tests. Every question I asked she had the answer for meaning that i was left with no loose ends when it came to the end of a lesson. I found that if there was a break between my lessons, she always took time to ask how I felt regarding different maneuvers and and general road usage. I would highly recommenced Xpert Driver Training as I felt that I was constantly improving and gaining valuable driving experience.
Having taken both the old and new tests, I found that the use of the SatNav during the new test was actually better as it meant that I had longer to prepare before each turn allowing me to plan further ahead than with the verbal instructions. The new reversing maneuver was also simple enough and performed at a sensible location so as not to cause disruption. Personally despite very little instruction before then new test, I felt it was very similar to the old one and therefore the fuss over the new test is causing more worry than necessary and I found that the difference was almost unnoticeable apart from the use of the SatNav.
