Mick Knowles established Xpert Driver Training, in Feb 2017, when he rebranded his very successful and initial driving school, Mick's School of Motoring in 2011 after leaving the Army. Mick is also an ORDIT Registered trainer and delivers driving instructor training to the Xpert instructors as well as many others around the country.

Stephanie Coulson joined Xpert Driver Training in October 2015 after previously working as an independent driving instructor. Stephanie covers all Goole and Howden postcode areas and the following Driving Test Centres; York and Scunthorpe.

Carl Elsby joined Xpert Driver Training in July 2017, after leaving a national school, as he believes in a client based approach using up to date techniques. Carl is very calm and adaptive and specializes in nervous learners making them calm and relaxed using a variety of different skills. Carl covers Pocklington and Market Weighton and uses York Test Centre

Dave Kay joined Xpert Driver Training in December 2020, as a Trainee Driving Instructor, whilst he completed his training with Mick. On successfully passing all three tests at the first attempt Dave joined us a fully qualified driving instructor in May 2021. Dave has gone from strength to strength since joining Xpert and has a great success rate with his learners. Dave covers all of York postcodes and uses York Test Centre

Ahmed Abdu has been with Xpert Driver Training since July 2024, he completed his training with another company. Ahmed delivers automatic driving lessons in York.

Richard Lumby also trained with Xpert Driver Training and joined us in June 2024 as a trainee driving instructor. In September 2024, he completed his training with Mick and successfully passed all three tests at the first attempt. Richard has settled in really well since joining Xpert and has a great success rate with his learners. Richard covers the York Area.

Adrian Nicholson is driving instructor with Xpert Driver Training and joined us in January 2025 as a trainee instructor. In April 2025, he completed his training with Mick and successfully passed all three tests at the first attempt. Adrian used to be a driving instructor prior to COVID but then left the industry for a few years before deciding to retrain. Adrian covers the York Area.
