Catherine only came to us a few weeks ago having taken her test a number of times previously with another instructor. Within minutes of being in the car, Mick had realised what her issue was and helped Catherine find a way to correct it.  Immediately there was a massive difference in her driving.  After 12 hours of confidence building Catherine sailed through her test this morning.

It was a special day today at Xpert Driver Training, one of our learners had their driving test! Nothing different to any of the other tests, however when your mum is also your instructor, it adds a little bit more to it.

However congratulations are in order as Jack White, from Scarborough passed his driving test, in Scarborough on 24 July 17, with only 3 driver faults.

Before I turned 17 Mick set me up in the Theory Test Pro app, which was so helpful, allowing me to pass my theory test the first time I took it! Furthermore, the early theory test studying helped me considerably when it came to practical driving. Jane was my instructor and I couldn't recommend her enough, her ability to step back from a situation and help give me understanding as to why things happen on the road not just what I should be doing was greatly beneficial to my driving. Thoughtfully, Jane taught me throughout my driving lessons tips for all driving conditions- tips of which are found in the pass plus syllabus. This showed she cares about her pupils being safe on the road not just getting the pass! Fantastic teacher and great support shown by the team of instructors, couldn't be happier with the service provided, certainly will be coming back to do my pass plus with Jane! Jack White

Congratulations to Grace Whorley, from York who passed her driving test at the 1st attempt, in York on 21 July 17, with only 2 driver faults.  Grace became not only our 2nd pass of the day, but also Carl, her driving instructors first since he came to us from Another driving school.

I learnt how to drive with Carl from Xpert Driver Training and throughout regular weekly lessons over 5 months I was able to pass my test first time. My confidence grew over the weeks and Carl always made sure that we covered areas in the lessons that I felt I needed more practice with, or areas where I wasn't as confident. He really tailored the lessons as to what felt I wanted to do in order to improve. Carl gave me useful theory advice using an app (Theory Test Pro) and also helped me greatly with my Show Me, Tell Me questions which made me feel confident in both tests. I feel that Carl's way of teaching has prepared me for driving independently on the roads. Thank you very much :) Grace Whorley

Congratulations to Jordan Tinning, from Goole who passed his driving test at the 1st attempt, in York on 21 July 17, with Mick, his Xpert Driver Training instructor in Goole, York and Selby.

I chose Xpert Driver Training for my driving lessons due to a recommendation from a family member. I had previously had some lessons with another company but I was a very nervous driver and had very low confidence. After a few lessons with Mick Knowles my confidence increased due to his patience and expert teaching methods. As my confidence grew, Mick ensured that I used my initiative on the roads instead of relying on his instruction which helped me become more independent and able to pass my test first time. I would recommend Mick without hesitation and can't thank him enough. The office staff helped me to book my test and were extremely helpful. All-in-all I would rate Xpert Driver Training the full five stars and would recommend them for anyone who (to quote Mick himself) wants to "learn how to drive" rather than just pass their test. Would recommend to anyone! I've lived in the UK for only a couple of years now n come from a right hand lane driving culture. When I first started driving with Steff I was terrified of the road. Not only because everything was "the wrong way around" inside and out the car, but also in another language, and even at home I've failed my test 3 times due to a combination of nerves and lack of faith in my ability or even lack of it in itself. In a few months Steph has gotten me to a point at which I felt confident to not only pass the test, which I did, but most importantly to drive safely by myself. Mick and the office staff are polite and understanding, too, and were a true pleasure to work with. In my eyes, they have earned the right to call themselves experts.
