Lincoln Pride 2011 @ The Lawn Lincoln

Lincoln Pride

Lincoln Pride 2011 is taking place at The Lawn, Lincoln.  Set in 8 acres of grounds in the uphill area of historic Lincoln, it boasts some of the most magnificent views over the city.

Lincoln Pride 2011 is a local celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans life - everyone is welcome and we strive for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and enjoyment for all.

Lincoln Pride is organised by a collective of friendly, creative and enthusiastic volunteers who together form the Lincoln Pride Committee. The committee are driven by the vision to place Pride firmly on the map in Lincoln with an annual event every summer!

What time does Lincoln Pride start?

The gates open to the public at 12:00pm (midday). The main stage acts will begin at approximately 1:00pm/1:30pm until approximately 6:30pm.

Who is Lincoln Pride aimed at?

Lincoln Pride is for everyone! There are no age restrictions to attend the Lincoln Pride event.

Are families welcome?

Yes, absolutely! Lincoln Pride has been programmed to appeal to families with an exciting line our main stage as well as a dedicated Kid’s Zone with special guests for younger children.

I’m not Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans – can I still come to Lincoln Pride?

Yes, absolutely! Lincoln Pride is for everyone and we don’t want to exclude anyone. Lincoln Pride is about recognising and celebrating the diverse LGBT communities that live and work in Lincolnshire and a way of showing that Lincolnshire is a county proud of its diversity!

How is Lincoln Pride 2011 being paid for?

Lincoln Pride 2011 is being paid for by money received from sponsors and donations. This sponsorship is going towards all the day-time costs, including the hire of the venue, security, stewards, publicity and promotion. The Lincoln Pride Committee is working non-stop behind the scenes to secure additional sponsorship to put on an unforgettable live music programme (staging, performing artists, PA equipment. lighting, etc). Check outwww.lincolnpride.co.uk for further information about the acts performing at this year’s Lincoln Pride and to see who our generous sponsors are.

What sort of things will I see at Lincoln Pride?

We have a fantastic line up of acts and artists performing on our main outdoor stage in the grounds of The Lawns. We also have a number of different community groups, organisations  and local and regional businesses represented. There will be drinks available and there will be a number of food vending vans selling refreshments.

I hear there is an Official Lincoln Pride After Party – where is this taking place and how much does it cost?

That is correct! The Official Lincoln Pride After Party details have now been decided and we will be releasing details very very soon!

I’m 17 year’s old, can I come to the Official Lincoln Pride After Party?

We’re really sorry – but due to UK licensing laws for the sale of alcohol the Official Lincoln Pride After Party is only for people aged 18 years and over. However we are working very closely with a youth organisation and local business with the aim of holding an ‘under 18s’ LGBT night in the near future – so watch this space!

Is Lincoln Pride a business?

No. Lincoln Pride is a non-profit making organisation. Lincoln Pride is run by a collective of enthusiastic, creative and friendly volunteers. Lincoln Pride became a constituted group in May 2009.  The Lincoln Pride Committee is made up of Officers and Committee Members.

What happens to all monies raised by the Lincoln Pride Committee?

All of the sponsorship monies received this year have already been allocated to costs associated with the Lincoln Pride event. Once all these costs have been met, any money received through fund raising, etc, will go directly towards funding Lincoln pride 2012 as well as supporting local LGBT community groups and/or events associated with Lincoln Pride
